Amarillo Police officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of 6th St. in Amarillo last night as a huge fight with shots fired broke out.  Thankfully, nobody was injured by the gunshots.  2 people were arrested, one individual was booked on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and a second was arrested for warrants.

"On Wednesday September 4th, at approximately 10:05pm, officers were sent to the 2200 block of NE 6th on a report of a large fight and that shots were fired. Upon arrival in the area, officers detained 3 individuals who were walking away from the area, while other officers went to a residence in the 600 block of N. Osage were additional participants we reportedly located. Officers contact the occupants of a residence and several individuals came out and were detained while officers continued their investigation. Eventually a Police K-9 unit was requested and the house was cleared with the use of the dog and two more individuals were located hiding inside the residence. After talking with several witnesses in the neighborhood and through the officers investigation, officers recovered 2 .22 caliber rifles, one 12 gauge shotgun and one .380 pistol that was later determined to have been stolen out of Randall County. One subject, Christian Alexis Mata H/M 17 was arrested and booked into Potter County Corrections on charged of Aggravated Assault w/ Deadly Weapon, Theft of a Firearm and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon. A second individual was arrested for some outstanding municipal court warrants. No one was injured by the reported gun shots."

The incident remains under investigation.
