21 Savage has been in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center since Sunday (Feb. 3), as ICE officials claimed the rapper is actually a native of the U.K., and that he has been in the U.S. illegally for over a decade. Now, 21's co-manager Justin “Meezy” Williams has given an update on the rapper's current condition.

"Just got off phone wit Savage ... he is in lockdown for 23hrs of the day no tv or any communication besides our 10 min phone calls," Meezy said in a tweet Tuesday morning (Feb. 5). "Everything I’ve told him that has been happening made him happy & makes this time fly by thank y’all for the support."

This update comes after records revealed that 21 was born in London. While his team has maintained this is all a mix-up with incorrect information, that claim isn't enough to get 21 out from ICE custody.

According to ICE, 21 came to America legally in 2005 via a non-immigrant visa, then overstayed when it expired in July 2006. However, a previous tweet from Meezy claims this information is incorrect.

"Imma say this 1 time ... Savage did not come to amaerica as a teen lol...," he wrote on Monday (Feb. 4). "Me and him had the same 3rd grade homeroom teacher ... shouts to Ms. Scott ..Stone Mountain elementary."

On Monday, one of 21's lawyers, Charles H. Kuck, told TMZ that ICE is "unnecessarily punishing" his client and intimidating him into leaving the country. He also says that the rapper applied for a U visa in 2017 and the application is still under review and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) knew about it, but didn’t take any action until his arrest this past weekend.

In the meantime, the rapper remains in federal immigration custody in Georgia and is facing deportation back to the U.K. A petition to stop the deportation has garnered over half of its intended goal of 200,000 signatures in only about 24 hours.
