The City of Amarillo plans to celebrate National Tourism Week May 2nd - 11th (nationwide 3rd - 11th).  You might be asking yourself what exactly there is in Amarillo that could be a tourist attraction.  Living here, we tend to forget that with 2 popular highways crossing through the city, Amarillo is a nice place to stop for rest, food and even fun.  There's a lot more to do in Amarillo than you think!  So even if you live in the area, you should get out and drink the city's attractions in!

From the world famous Cadillac Ranch, Palo Duro Canyon, Texas Air & Space Museum, Panhandle Plains Historical Museum and many other attractions that you could literally live here and not even be aware of, there's something to catch the eye of travelers.

"Harrington House Hits 100- It's not often that an Amarillo building reaches this age but this local landmark is planning a whole year of events to celebrate. Get started by calling (806-374-5490) to get yourself on a tour and then recommend a visit to your guests. Some restrictions apply to house tours. Read more about the Harrington House in the Amarillo Globe News.

Zip Line Web Site is a Zip- Mel Smith at Palo Duro Adventure Park reports that business is good at his zip line and rappeling attraction next to Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Now, the web site is up and running. It even accepts bookings. So check this out or call 806-488-2260 and make sure your guests know about this adventure option."

I'm interested to see how many tourists make a stop through Amarillo during tourism week.

I'm also very curious how many people wonder what the hell we're doing with that huge set of legs with socks on them at I-27 & the Sundown Lane overpass...  I bet a lot of selfies are taken out here...
