Amarillo firefighters had to take on a hay fire in Potter County on Tuesday afternoon near state highway 136 and Loop 335.  The details are sketchy at the moment, as no comments have been made by the Amarillo Fire Department.

"About 2:15 p.m., firefighters from Amarillo Fire Department and Potter County Fire Rescue were dispatched to Lone Star Alfalfa in response to a report of burning hay. Potter County Sherrif Department officers also responded.

Firefighters spent over 4 hours working on the fire, refilling trucks with water several times as they attempted to snuff out the blaze. Fire department officials were unable to comment on the incident and police said they did not know details regarding the cause of the fire."

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and firefighters were working on it past 5:00pm on Tuesday, June 25th, 2013.
