Several witnesses saw that a man was trying to force a female employee into a car.  The witnesses told the man that they were calling the police.  The man forced the, 30 year old female into the car, but she was able to keep the door forced open with her leg.  When other people became involved in helping the female victim, the suspect left.    The woman told police that the man was her ex-boyfriend and he approached her demanding that she speak with him, when she refused he wrestled her to the car.  The police were able to obtain a description of the man's car and were alerted that he was probably carrying a handgun.  The officers checked the man's address but at the time could not locate him.

Then a bit before 11pm the police receive another call from the 1300 block of Washington claiming they could hear a woman screaming from one of the apartments.   The officer found the apartment and heard the sound of the struggle.  After looking through the window, the officer saw a man kneeling on the floor by the door and realized that he had a handgun pointing at him.  The officer backed away from the window, and then heard movement.  The woman inside alerted the officers that the man had dropped the gun.  Officers were then able to force the front door open and took the man into custody.  The officers found a 9mm handgun.  The female victim told the officers that she came to gather some personal items from the apartment because she didn't think the man was home.  Once inside the apartment she was confronted by the man.  He assaulted her and held her at gun point.

Jacob Wayne Chism, white male, 29, was placed under arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center for aggravated assault/domestic violence, aggravated assualt on a public servant, and kidnapping.
