Amarillo Missing Persons, Mark Travis Burkett Jr [PHOTOS]

Mark Travis Burkett Jr has been missing since October of 2010.  Amarillo Police Special Crimes Unit asks for help in locating Mark, as they are still searching for him almost 4 years after his disappearance.  When I reached out to Sgt Barbee of the APD Crime Prevention Unit and asked why they would re-release this missing persons statement almost 4 years after it occurred, the response I got was "because it was his birthday, and he's still missing".

"On October 20, 2010, Mark Travis Burkett, Jr. was reported missing to the Randall County Sheriff’s Office. During the course of the investigation, it was learned Mark might have been in Amarillo at the time of his disappearance. Due to the information received, the Special Crimes Unit opened a missing person case. After following up on many tips, Mark has not been found."

Mark goes by the nickname of "Bubba", and would/should be celebrating his 24th birthday. The Special Crimes Unit asks anyone with information about Mark’s disappearance to contact 806-378-9468 or call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400.
