Amarillo Motel 6 Robbery

A visitor just trying to catch some sleep at the Motel 6 located at 4301 E I-40, or basically Bolton & I-40 in Amarillo, was a robbery victim while he laid asleep in his motel room.  That's not what "we'll leave the light on for you" means!!!  Yet, while he was in a slumber, the door was kicked in by an armed suspect.

That has to be one hell of a rude awakening!  Here's what APD has to say about it.

"On 4-3-15, at 7:51 AM, officers were sent to 4301 E. IH-40 on a reported robbery.  The victim, an AM age 45 who listed an Amarillo address, reported that he was asleep in his motel room when he was robbed.  He said that a HM armed with a large handgun or a rifle “kicked in” his door and entered the room.  The suspect demanded the man’s bag, and took a black camera bag containing cash and the victim’s wallet that was in the room.  The HM then left.  The suspect was described as in his 30’s, 5ft.7, 180 pounds, wearing what the complainant could only describe as “a cap and a jacket.” 

The victim was not injured and there were no arrests.
