Do you love fishing?  Do your kiddos love fishing?  Well, get ready because Amarillo Parks and Recreation are gearing up for their annual Fish Derby!

If you are always looking for fun stuff to do with your kids, nothing beats fishing.  Every year the Amarillo Parks and Recreation does their best to hold free events for families.  Kids can come out and test their fishing skills for a chance to win prizes.

There will be a prize for the biggest, smallest, ugliest, and most unique fish.  There will also be a casting competition and more!  There will be a limited number of fishing poles that are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  So if you don't have one, get there early.

There will be other things going on for those who aren't fishermen.  AP&R will also have a bouncer set up for kids to jump in for $1.

This is a free event for kids ages 3-16.  Kids are invited out to McDonald Lake, off 45th and Coulter, Saturday, June 25th.  Registration starts at 7:30 am and the fishing begins at 8:00 am.

Early registration is encouraged and ensures your kids will get a fishing pole.  You can register by phone by calling 378-9391 or online at amarilloparks.org.  Pre-register by phone or online until June 23rd at 12:00pm.

Amarillo Parks and Recreation will also be doing free bus rides from several different park sites.  To find a bus location near you, just call 806-378-9391

Onsite registration will be held happens the morning of at 7:30 am.  And did I mention it's FREE!
