Amarillo Soldier, Genaro Bedoy, Dies In Active Duty – Community Steps Up To Help Wife & 7 Week Old Daughter Left Behind

From friends and family, to students of River Road ISD, the Amarillo community steps up to honor, remember and help the family of Genaro Bedoy, a HERO that died in active duty while serving in Afghanistan.  Fundraisers are forming, and we're asking that you find it in your heart to help!

Genaro, a River Road High graduate, leaves behind a wife and a 7 week old baby girl.  A tragedy to say the least.  As the days pass, and the tears shed, many step up to lend a helping hand to ensure his memory lives on, and his wife and child do not go without.

GENARO BEDOY – FUND RAISER DETAILS

Donations are being accepted at the following drop-off locations to benefit his wife and their 7 week old daughter.  The family asks for diapers, sizes 2-3, Huggies are preferred, but all brands are gladly accepted!  Baby formula is a BIG request!  Similac is what is fed to the young girl, and that is very specific so Similac only please.  Also, baby wipes, powder, diaper cream, bottles, pacifiers, baby soap and shampoo and all other baby care products.  Please do not donate baby clothes, as they have received an overwhelming amount of clothes already.  The big needs are diapers and formula.

Monetary donations are being accepted at all area Amarillo National Banks.  Donate to the Bedoy Family’s Savings Account.

Monetary donations are also being accepted at the counter of the 6th St. Massacre, located at the corner of 6th & Virginia.

Fundraiser events to benefit the Bedoy family include a Tailgate Party taking place at River Road High in the parking lot, October 19^th, 2012, in River Road VS Pampa.  They will be selling hot-dogs, hamburgers, chips & refreshments, 100% of the proceeds benefit the Bedoy family.

There will be a balloon release to honor Genaro as well, happening this Friday, September 21st, starting at 5:30pm at River Road High School Stadium.
