Amarillo Zoo Celebrates Their 60th Anniversary

The Amarillo Zoo has been putting smiles on kids faces for 60 years now.  That's right, they are celebrating their 60th anniversary of being open and would for you to celebrate with them. 

Amarillo has been lucky to have the zoo and on Saturday, May 16th they will be celebrating their 60th anniversary.  They will be offering free admission from 6-8pm so that everyone can come and celebrate with them.

There will be activities for the whole family.  Not only will you get to enjoy all the awesome animals, but the Andy Chase Cundiff band will be providing live music.  There will also be $0.25 hotdogs and costume characters for the kiddos to take pictures with.  And of course, you cant celebrate without cake ad ice cream.

Guest will also get to see a few special presentations and animal shows throughout the Zoo plus as a nostalgic look back to 1955.  And since the zoo is always expanding, they have a surprise for everyone.  There is also going to be a new exhibit opened up starting Friday.
