Amarillo Zoo Hosting Mardi Growl

It seems that as the Amarillo Zoo grows so do their activities.  This Saturday you and your family can come celebrate Mardi Gras, animal style.

It's always fun to go out to the zoo.  It is a great family experience and everyone has a good time.  This Saturday, the Amarillo Zoo is hosting Mardi Growl.  This is an event for the whole family.  It is Mardi Gras with a twist.

As you stroll through the zoo, you will get to hear the  sounds of Cajun music and sample King Cake (while supply lasts).  The kiddos will get to make an animal mask to use as they join in a second line parade through the Zoo.

While you're there, you and your family will learn about some of the unique animals that call the Louisiana bayous and swamp their home. There will even be an opportunity for you to purchase an original Louisiana 'Possum Art Print. These limited pieces of art work are "hand painted" by the zoo's very own opossums.

The festivities kick off at 1pm and last until 3pm.  All the activities are free when you pay your entry fee.  Adults 13 and up cost $4, Seniors 62 and up $3,Children 3 to 12 $2, and kids 2 and under are free.
