Have you ever been so hungry that you thought about eating the spider in the corner?  Nope, me either.  The fact is, people all over the world eat different kinds of insects and the Amarillo Zoo wants to give you an opportunity to sample.

Saturday, June 8th from 9:30-3:00 pm the Amarillo Zoo hosts Incredible Edible Insects.
The day will be completely dedicated to insects and spiders from around the world.  The event will also give visitors a chance to sample some insect based dishes.

Chef Mark Coffman from Sava! Italiano and Chef Bud from Back to the Table with Chef Bud  will be on site with demonstrations.  Visitors will get a chance to sample some Chocolate "Chirp" Cookies, Six-legged Surprise, and more!

There will be an area dedicated to breaking the world's record for spitting a cricket. The current record stands at over 30 feet.  You will also get to see a variety of live and mounted insect displays courtesy of West Texas A&M University and the Zoo.

Kids will have a chance to make-and-take an insect craft.  And everyone will get to enjoy the music of Andy Chase Cundiff (11am-2pm).

If you are looking for something different to do, go out to the Amarillo Zoo!  The event is free with regular admission.
