I look forward to the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) every year: the performances, fashion, all of it! This years was no different.
This year MTV decided not to have a host for the VMAs and I have to say I thought that was an awesome choice. There were no awkward jokes and everything went smoothly. Jessie J (singer/song writer) was the house artist for the night. Not only did she sing her songs, but she covered a lot of songs including Katy Perry's Firework and TCL's No Scrubs.

Alright now lets talk about fashion.  There were many people dressed to impress and then there were the ones who made you think, "What the heck are you wearing!"  For the most part the men were dressed really nice.  Wiz Khalifa, however, could have used some advice.  Now I find that Pitbull is always a very clean dressed guy.  Walking the red carpet, he looked very sharp, but during his performance, all I kept thinking was, "Whoever told you to wear those red pants should be fired!"  Awful choice.

Now time for the women.  I'm kind of speechless.  I feel like some of these ladies are ridiculous.  Yeah we all expect Lady Gaga to be weird, but what the heck was Nicki Minaj wearing?  And Katy Perry, since when was wearing a cube on your head fashionable?  I feel like it is a competition to see who can put the most crap their outfit.  But if surgical masks are the in thing, then Nicki Minaj rocked it!

The night was filled with a few surprises.  First off, Lady Gaga spent the whole night as her male alter ego Jo Calderone.  I find the transformation shocking.  She looks nothing like herself.  She or should I say he did put on an amazing performance.  Brian May from Queen joined her on stage.

Jay-Z and Kanye West surprised the audience by performing Otis.  They did an awesome job, but Jay-Z's wifey out did them.  Not only did she put on an awesome show, she revealed to the audience her baby bump.  Yes, Beyonce is going to be a mom.

Overall, I truly enjoyed the awards show.  Chris Brown's performance wasn't that great, but it wasn't bad either.  Bruno Mars and Russell Brand paid tribute to Amy Winehouse.  Britney Spears was honored.  And Adele blew us away with her song "Someone like you."

What was your favorite part?
