I have never been a waitress, but I know that they work hard and often have to deal with rude customers.  Therefore, I make sure to tip them well, but not all people feel that way.

A Newport Beach restaurant employee was left with a 1% tip and a tip of work advice: "Get A Real Job."  Now I find the 1% insulting and the advice down right rude.

Just because a person works in a restaurant doesn't mean he/she is any less of a person or worker.  They often work hard than bankers.  Yes, a wealthy banker is the one who left the horrible tip.

The restaurant was contacted and they say that the incident is under investigation.  So what will they do if they find out the receipt is 100% real?  Can they ban the customer?  I don't really know, but I have a thought.  If you go to eat with a large group, they automatically include the tip into the total.  So if the bill is over $100 they should do the same, right?

I think so.  So what do you think?  Do you think the customer is in the right?  I mean the waitress could have done a lousy job.  Or do you think that no matter how horrible the service was, she should have gotten more than a 1% tip?
