The red carpet only just began and Carly Rae Jepsen is already taking home a trophy. The ‘Call Me Maybe’ singer snagged the Most Streamed Video Award of the Year at the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards tonight (June 17).Jepsen’s win likely wasn’t a big surprise, seeing as not only was her original video for ‘Call Me Maybe’ insanely popular, but it inspired a slew of video covers by everyone from Katy Perry and James Franco to her own mentor Justin Bieber and his ladylove Selena Gomez.

Her MuchMusic Video Award isn’t the only accolade Jepsen’s received for ‘Call Me Maybe.’ The song recently shot to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, knocking Gotye’s post-breakup whinefest ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ off of the top spot. The track previously held the No. 1 position in her native Canada for four weeks.

Jepsen recently performed a stripped down, schoolhouse version of the track on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,’ earning even more new fans for the sugary-sweet tune. Jepsen recently copped to having a “healthy obsession” with writing her new album to capitalize on her ‘Call Me Maybe’ momentum, saying, “Fall is our goal to get [the record] out and tour shortly after that.” Congrats!
