Chris Brown was arrested Tuesday (Aug. 30) for assault with a deadly weapon after LAPD searched his home for hours yesterday (Aug. 31). However, the singer was released on $250,000 bail Tuesday evening, NBC Los Angeles is reporting.

Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos issued the following statement late Tuesday evening. "Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes," he wrote on Twitter. "Chris is out and well. The allegations against him are demonstrably false #TeamBreezy."

Earlier Tuesday, a woman called 911 to report an incident in which Brown allegedly pulled a firearm on her, resulting in an LAPD investigation that led to the aforementioned search of his house. According to her accusations, Brown and others became irate when she went to admire a diamond cross necklace, ordering her to leave the house immediately. Police didn't comment on whether or not they found a firearm in the home, though TMZ is reporting that both guns and drugs were seized.

Brown has yet to issue a statement via social media or otherwise, though a video of Ray J speaking on the incident was posted to his Instagram page. He's scheduled for arraignment on Sept. 20 at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.
