If you're one of the unlucky few who wasn't already following the hilarious and insightful Chrissy Teigen on Twitter, don't expect to see new tweets from the supermodel anytime soon. As of last night, Teigen has officially set her account to private -- which means we'll no longer be able to retweet gems like this:

When asked by a fan to verify whether she had actually locked her Twitter, Teigen responded, “Yeah. Not strong enough anymore.”

The Lip Sync Battle co-host then clarified that the perpetual negativity lobbed at her from critics and fans alike ultimately informed her decision to protect her account: "It's not haters or trolls or generally mean people. I just feel like I am absorbing bad sh---t 24/7. My body and mind cannot handle it anymore."

Teigen has always been an outspoken force online, known for engaging fans in discussion on Twitter. She recently spoke out about the lack of sympathy (and, in several cases, straight-up cruelty) surrounding Kim Kardashian after the reality star was tied up and robbed at gunpoint in Paris on October 3.

“Some sh—t just isn’t funny. I see you trying, but it isn’t,” the model tweeted shortly after the news broke. “Fame is interesting. Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you’d make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets.”

After receiving backlash from users who clearly lack empathy, Teigen continued, writing, "Please do not think that I think celebrities are special snowflakes. I just miss empathy, in general, for everyone."

And just yesterday Teigen responded to a tweet criticizing her for an appearance she made on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Teigen -- who recently moved into Rihanna’s old house -- said that she sometimes opens the Anti singer’s mail whenever the odd bill makes its way to her mailbox.

"Rihanna, you owe $18 to Bugatti, I think," she joked.

"Bugatti would never send a bill for 18 dollars. It was a joke we spoke about beforehand. Damn,” she wrote in response. “Judged on every joke, every move, every dumb article. over it. Not everyone has bad intentions all the time."

There's no telling how long Teigen's Twitter lockdown will last, but let's hope she goes public again before the next U.S. Presidential Debate.
