What is going on in Colorado with all these cops shooting innocent dogs. Do they not understand that animals are just like human-beings and not just as pets to some of us. A couple months ago a story cam out about a cop shooting a pit-bull as the dog was just scared and trying to get away.

Now we have another story coming out Colorado. Jeff Fisher the owner of a 8-year-old blue heeler/border collie mix named "Ziggy" was killed by deputies of the Adams County Sheriff department. Fisher says the police opened his front door the dog ran outside and deputies shot "Ziggy" three times and killed him.

Fisher told 9news.com that:

"They just opened the door and opened fire on my dog," Fisher said sobbing.

Fisher says the deputy told him: "You need to calm down. You can get a new dog."

Fisher described the whole situation as "surreal" and claims Ziggy was not being aggressive.

"That dog was my best friend," Fisher said.

"They never informed they were police officers ... They shot him on a concrete slab. It's never going to be the same. I raised that guy since he was 6 weeks old."

"They just opened the door and opened fire on my dog," Fisher said sobbing.

Fisher says the deputy told him: "You need to calm down. You can get a new dog."

"That dog was my best friend," Fisher said. "

"[Ziggy's] not going to jump on my bed anymore," Fisher said crying.

Here's whats really messed up about this story. The police were responding to a call about a business alarm going off but they ENTERED the WRONG address! The deputies that were involved are still on duty. I will keep you updated on any further news.
