The lord of all Sith Lords has returned: The most notorious villain in all the galaxy (well, at least in a galaxy far, far away), Darth Vader, will officially return to the big screen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

In a brand new trailer for the upcoming Disney-Lucasfilm movie, sci-fi's most iconic bad guy—and perhaps cinema's most infamous plot twist—makes a brief but powerful appearance, wheezing dramatically into his helmet with his back turned towards the camera. (Do you have chills? We have chills.)

It was first rumored back in May that the Sith Lord may appear in the forthcoming highly-anticipated Star Wars spin-off when a German fan-site discovered draft pages for what seemed to be a visual guide for the film. An illustration of Vader featured prominently in one of the page spreads, sparking speculation that the former Jedi Knight might make a cameo in Rogue One—speculation which was corroborated by Entertainment Weekly in June.

The new trailer also marks somewhat of a minor tonal shift for the film. Though the film will be seemingly darker than most of the franchise's core offerings (including 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens), this second teaser for the upcoming movie incorporates more comedy, whimsy and levity than the first trailer that was debuted back in April.

In early June, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Disney was unsatisfied with an early cut of the film, deeming it too much of a "war movie"—no, the irony is not lost on us—and ordering re-shoots. Perhaps this slightly less foreboding trailer is a response to that... Nevertheless, it's still just as exciting and intense.
