Halloween is just over a week away!  The excitement is building and the kids are getting anxious to go out an wear their costumes.  Well you're in luck, I have gathered several events and times just for you and your kiddos.

As a mom, I try to make every holiday awesome for my son.  Of course, Halloween is a favorite because he gets to dress up as something magical or fantasy.  I want him to be able to transform as much as possible and just have fun.  This year, Amarillo businesses are hosting several Halloween events for this kids.

McDonald's

McDonald's is kicking off the Halloween events on Thursday, October 25th.  Halloween Family Fun Night is happening at one McDonald's location only-the Amarillo Blvd location between Buchanan and Pierce.  Starting at 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm, the first 100 kids (12 and under) who are wearing a full costume will receive a free happy meal coupon for next visit.

While the event is happening, all kids can enjoy hamburger Happy Meals for only $1.99.  So get there early and have your kids dressed in their full costumes.

Don Harrington Discovery Center Monster Bash

On Friday, October 26th the Don Harrington Discovery Center is hosting a Monster Bash for kids of all ages.  Beginning at 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm, kids can come out for a safe trick or treat.  They can also take part in some ‘spine chilling’ science.  And if you are brave enough, you are more than welcome to head downstairs to the haunted basement.  It is full of creepy sights and sounds.

Costumes are more than welcome, so come dressed up!  It only costs $5 per child for ages one and up.  Chaperones are free.

 Boo At the Zoo

The Amarillo Zoo is once again hosting it's annual Boo At the Zoo.  This year, it will last for three days.  Friday, October 26th and Saturday October 27th, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm and Sunday, October 28th from noon to 5 pm.

The only thing more fun than going to the zoo is going to the zoo in a costume.  There will be a costume contest for all ages, over 20 treat stations, a pumpkin stomp and chomp, a 'Bone Yard,' face painting, wizard wand and ghastly ghost crafts, fun games, and so much more.

Kids are encouraged to bring their own trick or treat bags and come have fun.  Because it is a family event, the zoo asks that nobody wear scary costumes or cover their faces.  Admission is only $5.00 per person.

Jump N Jive Family Fun Boo-Tacular

Friday, October 26th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm kids are invited to come have fun at Jump n Jive.  There will be a face painter, the Jump-N-Jive Frog will be there, and balloon twister!  There will be a costume contest and a DJ will be providing music for a boo-tastic time.

It only costs $8 for entry and the kids will get a slice of pizza and a drink.

Here are some activities that Amarillo will be having.  If you know of any other fun events for the kids, please share!
