These are four common mistakes we make in the kitchen that make us sick.

1. Having just one cutting board. You should have at least two. One for raw meat and one for anything else. The one for raw meat should be plastic, not wood.

Speaking of raw meat...

2. Do not wash your raw meat. When water from your faucet hits the meat, it splatters all over your kitchen. This could spread things like E. Coli and salmonella everywhere.

3. Using the same sponge too long. It will have a lot of bacteria build upon it. It's a good idea to replace it every two weeks.

4. Letting leftovers sit out too long. It's a good idea to not let leftovers sit longer than two hours. After that, it can start collecting bacteria which will get you sick.
