It seems like everyday there is something new coming out about former Texas Tech Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury. From becoming USC's new offensive coordinator, to there being interest from NFL teams in him becoming their head coach, to USC blocking all requests from Kingsbury to interview with those teams, and now to Kliff potentially leaving USC all together.

While there has been interest from the Jets and Cardinals for Kingsbury to become their head coach, there's another team out there that has a deep history with Kingsbury, who also may be in the market for a new offensive coordinator.

It all began with Pro Football Talk's own Mike Florio talking about Kliff Kingsbury potentially replacing current New England Patriots offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels if he leaves to become a head coach.

There is a deep history with Kingsbury and the Patriots. In the 6th round of the 2003 NFL Draft the Patriots took Kingsbury where he spent just one season with the team before being waived in 2004. Kingsbury used his Patriots connection as recently as two seasons ago when Texas Tech defensive back Justice Parker was gifted a full scholarship via video from Patriots players Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski.

Just to add a little more heat to the offensive coordinator fire, during his weekly interview with Mut & Callahan, Patriots quarterback and former teammate of Kingsbury, Tom Brady, was asked about Kliff and why he wasn't surprised Kingsbury is getting looks at head coaching jobs.

If Kingsbury doesn't become a head coach in the NFL but still wants to learn under one of the greatest coaches in history and wants the chance to dial up new plays for the ageless wonder Tom Brady, I think it's a match made in heaven.
