One day after celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D used her YouTube channel to address why she decided to disassociate from former best friend and beauty guru Jeffree Star, the popular Internet personality is now striking back with his own cool and collected 23-minute side of the story.

If you've not yet been following along, Kat posted a photo of Jeffree on her Instagram yesterday. "After years of making excuses for, and rationalizing Jeffree's inappropriate behavior (including, promoting drug use, racism, and bullying) I can no longer hold my tongue after recent events," the LA Ink star wrote, explaining her grievances against her make-up artist friend in great detail in a YouTube video that day, questioning his treatment of fans, his veganism and the allegation that Jeffree stole the logo for his make-up line.

In a video response called "Dear Kat Von D, It's Easier To Tell The Truth" posted tonight (July 20), Jeffree tackles each of her points, one by one, which was brought about because of the reaction of the Internet.

"Things have gotten past the point of Internet drama. We're now at the point where, two days later, I get a call from three of my family members. People from the Internet have found their numbers. They're calling my family, screaming death threats into the phone," he explains.

He displays their text conversation on his phone, pointing out that he never once told her to "f--k off." (The message evidently reads: "Stay the f--k out of my business.") Jeffree also maintains that while he was initially unable to pay for artist B.J. Betts' initial logo sketches for his cosmetics line, he later paid the artist in full for helping to inspire the final design.

"Does it look similar? A hundred percent, it does. But did I steal the logo? A hundred percent, I did not. So I never stole a logo, and B.J. never said I stole the logo. Actually, from talking to him this week, I found out that he had no idea Kat was going to go public and show his design and mention his name...I just feel sorry that he's now being dragged into this."

Kat, Jeffree says, wrongly stepped in on B.J.'s behalf.

"[Kat] also didn't know my current manager and lawyer were already talking to his manager and lawyer and working something out. Long story short, now that my brand is successful, I wanted to take care of somebody who was work-for-hire and had helped me in the beginning," Jeffree reveals.

"Don't you guys think I would be sued or there would be a lawsuit?" he goes on to explain. "I think there's a lot of malicious underlying intent, and I think that's what hurts and breaks my heart the most. Let's just say it one more time: BJ has been paid."

He also claims that Kat Von D allegedly told the owner of cosmetics line Too Faced that Jeffree stole one of her ideas from the lab they share. "I felt like someone had slapped me across my face. Someone that I had known for so long betraying me and lying about me?" he says.

As the general saying goes: There's one person's side, the other side, and then there's the truth. We may never know the full story, but with any luck, these two former friends can eventually hash this out — offline, please — and reunite one day. Here's hoping?
