A jury of his peers didn't quite see things the way Joe Francis did in Steve Wynn's defamation lawsuit against the Girls Gone Wild scum bag.  Slapping him right in the face with a $20 million total by the time the court was adjourned, not to be resuming later.

Wynn was suing Francis for defamation after he opened his incredibly big mouth, literally, and made claims that Wynn had threatened to have him killed and buried in the desert due to a gambling debt.

First, the judge hit Joe with a $5 million fee for claims he had made to a TMZ producer, then, the jury finished it off with $11 million that he is to pay to Wynn in the defamation lawsuit.  TMZ reports all in all with fees and fines, he's out $20 million!  Pennies to him, with his bank account(s) sitting around $150 million.

TMZ reports:

Francis tells TMZ he believes the judge made 2 reversible and appealable errors -- one of which was allowing Wynn to add the 'GMA' claim at the end of the trial.  Francis also believes some of the statements that allegedly constitute defamation were made in a court proceeding where Francis was seeking a restraining order against Wynn and were therefore privileged.

I guess Francis couldn't believe someone would try to make a buck off him, when in reality, that's how he accumulated his fortune.  Taking advantage of drunk and naive girls and getting them to do stuff they would later regret isn't really a "talent", it's just like this lawsuit, he made money off what other people were doing.  I hope ol' Joe can enjoy the irony in this lawsuit.
