Labor Day 2012 in Amarillo, TX – What is Open and What is Closed?
Labor Day falls on Monday, September 3rd, 2012, and while you have the day off to relax and enjoy some time to yourself, will there be anything you can do with your time? Will everything be closed, leaving you bored on your day off? I’ve done the digging for you, and even though I broke my back, I’ve found the answers!
Let’s start with the big ones, the fun things, the places you can take your entire family out to have some fun!
Splash will be open normal hours on Labor day, 12n – 7p, at a regular admission price. However, from 7:30p – 11:30p, Splash will re-open for KISS-FM’s Back To School Bash! With live music from some of Amarillo’s best musicians and bands, Amarillo’s hottest DJ’s live in the mix, and admission will only be $9.69! With tax, that comes out to a flat 10 bucks!
Wonderland will have the gates open on Labor Day this year from 1p-6p! Get wet, get dizzy, get the WOW factor! The world of Wonderland will be awaiting you this Labor Day, with all your favorite rides like the Texas Tornado, Shoot The Shoot, Drop of Fear and all the rest.
Let the kiddos go crazy at Jump N Jive this Labor Day, with the doors open during regular business hours, 11a-8p. It’s definitely a great place for your children to have fun and meet other kids!
Yes, you can shop till you drop this Labor Day at West-Gate Mall. Look for the mall to be open regular hours this Labor Day, and most likely, massive Labor Day sales, because you gotta spend your money on something.
More Great Stores For Shopping
It looks like the vast majority of retail stores will be open this Labor Day. I’ve confirmed that Best Buy, Target, Bed-Bath & Beyond, Walmart, Ross Dress For Less, Kohl’s and pretty much all the stores around the mall or in the Shops At Soncy will be open.
Of course the lakes and parks will be open, and probably pretty packed, so if you’re trying to avoid the crowd you need to stay away. Otherwise, have a fantastic Labor Day and enjoy your time off from work! And whatever you do, wherever you go, make sure you take 96.9 KISS-FM with you
