Despite the fact that pretty much everyone could tell that the problem with 'X Factor' contestant Carly Rose Sonenclar's spectacularly bad duet with LeAnn Rimes was LeAnn Rimes herself, the former country singer says the eardrum assault wasn't her fault.

Instead, she threw her 13-year-old duet partner under the bus. Because she's awesome that way.

Rimes' part of the two-person performance of 'How Do I Live' on Wednesday night was such a disaster that many in the media wondered if Rimes was drunk, but she says that wasn't the case.

Instead, she claims it went so badly because she “was trying to help this 13-year-old girl who was having some trouble with the song."

Larry Stein, LeAnn's lawyer (why he was involved in this is anyone's guess), told TMZ, "LeAnn was not performing the way she would normally perform, because she was on stage with a young girl."

It's true. Young girls are known to be very distracting.

As for those "LeAnn Rimes was one drink away from eating cheeseburgers off the floor with David Hasselhoff" rumors, he says they're also wrong, adding, "There have been a lot of untrue things said by others and it feeds into this sort of thing."

She should've admitted to being drunk, even if she wasn't. At least then she could blame something other than an innocent kid for that mess of a performance.

You stay classy, LeAnn.
