Local DJ Will Host “Selena Day” This Saturday At Sam Houston Park

Selena fans from all around the world will celebrate her life this Saturday at on the official Texas holiday, Selena Day. Selena Quintanilla was murdered in Corpus Christ, Texas on March 31st, 1995.

Over 60,000 people attended her funeral. She was a big influence in her community and was involved with many charities.

To keep her name alive, former Texas Governor George Bush named April 16th, "Selena Day." Local Tejano DJ "Bert All Over The City" will host a celebration of the holiday on Saturday, April 16th, from 3-5 p.m. Bert has actually met Selena and this will be his second year of putting on the event for the city of Amarillo.

The event will also be MC'd by Onda Maxx and Karaoke Joe will be spinning the Cumbia music. There will also be special "Selena" performances from local artists. Bring your lawn chairs and come celebrate the life of a Tejano icon, Selena Quintanilla.
