Highland Park School District recently passed a program that will allow some faculty members to carry a concealed weapon on school grounds.

The Superintendent for Highland Park Buddy Freeman says "It's not a program about taking lives it is a program about saving lives.”  Freeman also said he wouldn't feel safe having an employee carry a concealed weapon with just a CHL so if chosen, the employee will go through more training.

Freeman also wants a special training implemented for the faculty that want to carry a concealed weapon on school grounds such as three days of additional, intense training that is provided by consultants that we work with. "Their job is to teach people to shoot,” added Freeman.
