A 19-year-old Louisiana man was arrested by Jefferson Parish sheriffs after the mans son was discovered to have toxic levels of alcohol in his system.

The Belle Chase man is accused of feeding the infant enough alcohol for the alcohol level to reach .289. The legal limit of alcohol for an adult is .08. This is over 3x the limit of an adult.

Cesar Ruiz was booked yesterday for attempted murder of the child. The initial reason for the child being admitted to Ochsner hospital was for breathing difficulties. After being admitted the child started having seizures and was moved to ICU.

It was there they realized that the child had such a high alcohol toxicity level. Ruiz said that he was only trying to ease the child's suffering and never mean to kill the child.
