Unrest in Egypt has been a factor in rising gas prices in the earlier months this year. Expensive crude oil costs have put pressure on gasoline prices nationwide dropping and raising the gas prices. The average price per gallon at the Amarillo pumps have reached $2.89 per gallon.

The average gas prices across the U.S. rose 20 cents for an nationwide average $3.26 per gallon. In Texas, the Dallas-Fort Worth area having the most expensive gas at around $3.18 per gallon. With the cheapest gas, being here in Amarillo and Victoria, Texas at around $2.90 per gallon.

So gas has been steady here in the city not jumping up in down, so if you are planning a trip out of town for the new years or family heading back home. Take the gas prices around the nation into consideration when traveling so you can save more money.
