Lubbock Police Arrest an Amarillo Man for Cutting Off a Dog’s Ears

Lubbock Criminal Attorneys have charged an Amarillo man with felony criminal cruelty to animals charges. Police said he cut off a dog’s ears and attempted to sew them back on.
Juan Chavira, 30, has been charged with causing serious damage to a white pit bull puppy. Police say that witnesses heard the puppy whimpering from the trunk of the man’s car on August 19th in Lubbock.
October 9th his case will go in front of a Lubbock Country grand jury. When police arrived they found the animal covered in blood and in obvious pain. The dog is now in shelter protection and in good spirits.
