Another show has been saved from permanent cancellation. According to a June 15 report from Variety, Netflix has revived Lucifer for its fourth season after the series was canceled by Fox.

The series' co-showrunner, Joe Henderson, thanked fans of Lucifer on Twitter once the news broke. "Thank you thank you THANK YOU to all the #Luciver fans," Henderson tweeted. "You brought us back. YOU did this. So relax, take a breath, put some ice on those fingers that have been hashtagging up a storm... and get ready for more deviltime."

Lucifer stars actor Tom Ellis as the titular character, who works with Los Angeles police to take down criminals on Earth. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television and is actually the second time Netflix has saved a WBTV show. The streaming service previously revived Longmire after the series was canceled by A&E.

The show also becomes the latest series canceled by Fox to be picked up by someone else. After the network canceled Brooklyn Nine-Nine in early-May, the series was quickly picked up by NBC for its sixth season. "Ever since we sold this show to Fox I've regretted letting it get away, and it's high time it came back to its rightful home," said NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt.

Other shows to be canceled and then revived this year include ABC's Last Man Standing, which was picked up by Fox, and Syfy's The Expanse, which was revived by Amazon for its streaming service.
