Man Found Dead In Drainage Culvert On I-40E In Amarillo

Amarillo Special Crimes Unit is investigating a death that comes across as very suspicious.  A deceased man was found in a drainage culvert at the 2100 block of I-40E.  There is no real indication that this was a homicide, but the suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death has brought Special Crimes in to assist the investigation.

Amarillo Police:

"This morning APD officers were sent to the 2100 block of I40E on a man lying in a drainage culvert. The man was found to be deceased. Special Crimes investigators assisted in the investigation due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death. There was no indication the man's death was the result of a homicide and it appears to be accidental. An autopsy is scheduled in Lubbock tomorrow morning. Next of kin were notified of the man's death. He was identified as William Pletcher, Jr., WM, age 68."
