What The Heck? Is Anyone in Amarillo Missing A Pair of Boots?

Are you a resident of Amarillo, Texas and missing some boots? Keep reading, I just might know where they are.

I was browsing Facebook the other night when I came across a post that had me chuckling. A woman named Laura Sena posted a picture of some well-worn dusty boots on the curb.

As I prepared myself to read a post about a lyin', cheatin', no good spouse whose boots she was kicking to the curb (literally), I instead found myself drawn into a tale of a "very big dog" with a playful love for a pair of men's boots.

According to Laura, the "very big dog", who she did not recognize, came galloping into her front yard with one boot.....then another boot.....then some trash.

Apparently the dog was very proud of itself as he frolicked with both boots.

And if you really think about it, it's actually quite impressive that the dog managed to bring around both boots from wherever they originally came from.

And here's what got me the most about this story. When I checked with Laura to get her permission about using the photo in her post, she sent me a picture of the culprit (or "The Very Big Dog" as we know him)

Guys...

That is a VERY BIG DOG.

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it turned my chuckle into a guffaw to imagine this dog prancing around with two boots.

I came up with a theory about the origin of the boots, and it looks like at least one commenter agreed with me. Some hardworking dude probably came home from a long day at the feedyard and took off his smelly ol' boots to air out on the front porch.

And along came a curious, gigantic puppy and here we are today...Can you imagine the guy's face as he walks out and realizes a perfectly good pair of boots are gone?

So, if these are your boots.....now you know what happened. You might want to look up Laura or go check around the area of 42nd and Polk Street.

And who knows? "The Very Big Dog" might be close by.
