Mother Finds Used Syringes At Amarillo’s Memorial Park By Splash Pad [PHOTO]

Amarillo mother, Jessica Clark Walker, found some pretty shocking items while picking up her son from Memorial Park yesterday.  Her 10-year-old son was attending a birthday party at the park, taking place at the Splash Pad. Right by the Splash Pad, outside the restrooms, she saw these 4-5 used syringes, just laying on the ground. This is in an area where hundreds of children run around without shoes, playing in the water!

Jessica sent me the following message on Facebook:

"I took this picture yesterday at about 4 p.m., picking my son up from a b-day party at the splash pad. TONS of kids running around, barefoot. My 10 year old son is the one who found them, almost stepped on them trying to get the soccer ball they were playing with. They were just there against the bathrooms. You can absolutely use the pic! I called the parks & rec maintenance and they said they will try to keep an eye out, but they get so many of these reports that it's almost impossible to do anything about it."

I agree with Jessica, it's almost impossible to do anything about it.  What kind of a junkie just leaves their used needles lying by a splash pad!?!
