Movie Theater Closes After Infested By Bed Bugs

Two teenagers who are covered in bed bugs bites claim they got them while sitting in a movie theater in Lodi,California. The movie theater in Lodi is now temporarily closed after several people complained of being bit.

The two girls told FOX 40 they went to see a movie at the Stadium 12 Cinema Friday night. Saturday morning, they woke up with hundreds of bites on their arms and legs. The two girls reported the bites the next morning, but the theater still remained open and people still sat in the same seats that the girls did that got bit by bed bugs.

“You shouldn't have to worry about bugs at your local theater”

“It was a really bad rash on my arms and on my legs too. From where you're sitting, from where my skin was touching the seat,” said one of the girls.

The two girls received a phone call on Saturday afternoon from the theater saying they did actually find bed bugs in the theater! Stadium 12 cinema did not shut the doors till they noticed the pictures of the bed bug bites on the two girls were posted on Facebook and it went viral.

Lodi Stadium 12 did post a public notice on their doors Sunday. It read:

“IN CONSIDERATION FOR OUR PATRONS WE ARE CLOSED TODAY FOR A THOROUGH INSPECTION. WE ARE SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.”

The theater will be shut down until they pass inspection.
