National Puppy Day became an international holiday when it trended on Twitter in 2012 through 2015.

There are around 8,00 to 10,000 puppy mills in the US. Many of these breeders allow their dogs to get pregnant with the plan to make money. A lot of times they did not have the proper conditions for these dogs. They are forced to live in crammed cages. They rarely get time to roam freely to play and get exercise.
