I knew that a proposition was in place to ban synthetic marijuana, but I didn't realize it had been passed?  Shows you how much I pay attention!  Either way, bad news for Up N Smoke, as Randall Country Sheriffs raided the the shop on Western and found 24 pounds of synthetic marijuana!

How crazy is that?   Either way, I did my research, and sure enough, the 82nd Texas legislature amended the Texas Controlled Substances Act on making bath salts and synthetic marijuana products and other designer drugs illegal for sale and use under SB 311 and HB 2118.

So this could be bad news, for some actually pretty cool guys!  The folks at Up N Smoke are really nice people and even though the law was passed, I still feel kind of bad for them.  Yes I am being bias because I'm sympathizing with friends. So back to the "news" aspect of this story.

Pro News 7 reports:

At 10:30 am deputies entered the Up In Smoke smoke shop located at 2901 S. Western at the corner of Western and Mockingbird to search for a large delivery.

Based on a tip they received and information received from DEA agents in Albuquerque, deputies knew they would be looking for boxes that contained the synthetic drug known as K-2.

They also located more of the illegal product that was package and ready for sale. More illegal narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia was seized from the store.

No arrests were made, but it's also been reported that warrants are expected to be issued as the investigation continues.
