The interwebs have been blowing up the past couple of days after a story broke out of Oklahoma about a man who died as a result of an "Atomic Wedgie."

The story indicates that a man and his step son got into an altercation which resulted in the 33-year-old step son giving his dad the atomic wedgie. The father apparently died after asphyxiation and trauma to the head caused by the incident. Now, it's never good to laugh at a murder, but when you see headlines like this one, it's hard not to.

For many people, you may be unfamiliar about what exactly an atomic wedgie is. According to Wikipedia,

The Atomic Wedgie entails hoisting the waistband of the receiver's underwear up and over their head.

For anyone who may need a little more explanation, these two videos show a normal (yet pretty severe) form of the wedgie:

The Atomic Wedgie takes it a step further. The goal isn't just to get the underwear pulled up, but to also get it pulled over the recipients head. As you can imagine, this is no simple task. It's also (I'd assume, since I've never received one) not a pleasant thing to receive.

In this video, we see a group of young boys performing an attempt at the Atomic Wedgie

So, now that you are more familiar with the process, I ask of you, please don't perform this task at home. As we have learned from the story out of Oklahoma, the results can be deadly.  What may seem like a harmless prank, as seen in this video, could have disastrous results.

Lucky for those girls, the only thing really hurt by their prank was the bonds of trust in their friendship.  Let this be a warning to you: Wedgies, though hilarious, are much more dangerous than you could ever know.
