Grady Rose, 66, had exited the fire when he approached firefighters to alert them someone else was inside the home, Powell said. Firefighters then launched a ground operation.

She said smoke was extremely thick through parts of the home.

67-year-old Linda Abbott was found already deceased inside the southwest corner of the home, Powell said.

Another sad story coming out of the Texas Panhandle that involves the loss of a life.
