In Amarillo, there's about 20 members of the AU American Racing Pigeon Union that partake in the practice of pigeon racing.  One Amarillo member wants more people to join in the sport of pigeon racing in Amarillo.  First off, what the hell is pigeon racing?

It's a sport that's been around since the 1910's, and thousands of members across the nation are pigeon racing enthusiasts.

Each bird has a ring around its foot and is tracked on the electronic clocking system that scans the pigeon when it gets home.  The first flock of birds to make it back to their home in the fastest amount of time, wins.

Local member, John Landry, says he's won his fair share of races, but isn't about to give up his training secrets.

Members of this club meet at their club house, located off Amarillo Boulevard and 9th.  Right now the club is preparing for the next racing season that starts at the end of August.
