Amid a host of new developments announced at FX today, including company promotions and its first original animated series, 'Chozen,' to premiere on spinoff network FXX, the company announced that comedian Russell Brand's late-night talk show, 'Brand X with Russell Brand,' would no longer move forward. The cable network will keep in business with the comedian, however, developing an original scripted comedy to better highlight his talents.

According to the reports, Brand's new FX comedy will loosely follow the entertainer's own life, in the vein of 'Seinfeld' creator Larry David's 'Curb Your Enthusiasm.' The project remains in the very early stages of development with no writer attached as of yet.

On the plus side, 'Brand X''s spiritual offshoot 'Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell' will move from a weekly format to a daily one this September when it moves to the more comedy-centric, spinoff network FXX. "We saw more potential and upside in audience response," FX CEO John Landgraf said of the comedian.

Also on the development slate for FXX is the animated, gay-white-rapper comedy 'Chozen,' to be produced by 'Eastbound & Down''s Danny McBride with 'Archer' team Adam Reed and Matt Thompson. The series stars the vocal talents of 'SNL''s Bobby Moynihan, Michael Pena, Hannibal Buress, Kathryn Hahn, Nick Swardson, Method Man, Dekernion and McBride.

What say you? Are you sad to see 'Brand X' go, even if Russell Brand remains with the network? What other new FX shows are you interested to check out?
