I have begun planning my son's birthday party and a question that was brought up was the alcohol question.  Should I buy alcohol for the adults attending my son's party?

Growing up, alcohol was present for all occasions.  Holidays or birthday parties, it didn't matter.  The adults would drink and enjoy each other's company while the kids played and had a good time.  It never seemed wrong to me.

But lately, the kid's birthday parties that I have been to have been more for the adults than the kids.  So, there is that question again: should alcohol even be at a kid's birthday party?  I think that as long as the adults remember that it is a kid's party and don't get to rowdy, its ok to serve them alcohol.  It's about being a responsible adult.  What do you think?
