“Find a job you love and you will never work again.” My grandfather and father told me that when I was a kid. At the age of 9, I stood in front of a small crowd of cub scouts and their parents. I was handed a microphone and told to explain what it felt like to win 2nd place at The Pinewood Derby. I loved the feeling of hearing my voice over the PA system and having all eyes on me. From that moment, I knew I wanted to be an entertainer. Growing up, I did whatever I could to be on stage or to entertain a crowd. When I graduated high school I got my first radio job. I loved working on the radio and I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. That was over 15 years ago and I have never worked a day of my life since. I love my job! My job is great. I have been all over this great country. I have spent the winter in Bangor, Maine. Bangor is the place where Steven King lives and writes most of his books. I was in Biloxi, Mississippi when Hurricane Katrina rocked The Gulf Coast. I worked at a radio station that was literally around the corner from Helen Keller’s house. I launched a new radio station in Monroe, LA which is the home of the hit reality show, DUCK DYNASTY. I have been to many more places, too many to count. I have accomplished a lot in my career. I have hosted quite a few morning shows. I had a show that was syndicated in multiple markets. But the biggest accomplish for me is making a positive impact on the community I live in. I like taking advantage of the fact my job allows me to reach lots of people. This is a tool I need to help those in need. Whether it’s a toy drive, blood drive, food drive or just announcing where a girl scout troop will be selling cookies…I do what I can to help others better themselves and to help others. When I am not on the air, I spend a lot of time with my son. I am a single dad and that is my other important job. It is a privilege to watch him grow up. I work hard every day to give him what he needs to be successful. I try to teach him the importance of working hard and helping others. I hope that I inspire him to do great things with his life. I love my job. I love the city I live in. I love and appreciate all those who listen and support our station. I feel like I am the luckiest guy alive. One of my favorite entertainers is Conan O’Brien. He once said “If you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen” I am a believer in those words.
