With the cold and snow that we got over the weekend, my first thought was hot cocoa!  It is easy to buy the instant cocoa packets, but I have a recipe that is just as simple and you'll love it!

Yesterday, as the snow began to fall, I decided that I was gonna make my family a big batch of hot cocoa.  Now there are several different ways to make it, and depending on my time and ingredients, I make different ones.  But I have one that will take no time at all and very few ingredients and still taste amazing.

Here's what you need:

3 1/2 cups sugar

2 1/4 cups cocoa

1 tablespoon salt

Whole milk

Marshmallows (optional)

Get all your ingredients, except for the milk, and combine them in a bowl.  Make sure they are blended well.  Now, this make a lot so I usually store in and air tight container and use it as wanted.

To make heat up 1 cup of whole milk, in the microwave, and mix with 2 tablespoons of the cocoa mix.  You will have to stir it occasionally to mix the cocoa in well.  If you want to make a big batch, like I do, warm the milk up in a saucepan on the stove.  For every cup of milk, add 2 tablespoons of the mix.

I like to make a big pot and serve my family all day!  They love it and will keep coming back for more.  If you store the mix in an airtight container, then you can store it for months and make a cup whenever you want it!
