Armstrong County Sheriff's were involved in a standoff with an armed man that they believed to have been suicidal.  This man ran several vehicles off the road on hwy 287, south bound, and was heading to Amarillo before law enforcement officers were able to stop him with a spike-strip.

I'm told by the Armstrong County Sheriff's office that the ordeal has ended, and drivers can once again use 287 south bound, though it is still a little backed up.  Traffic is starting to move again, so feel free to use 287.
