Some teachers and students at Sullivan High School are fighting to ban gay and lesbian students from Prom. They are instead trying to separate the students and have two proms, one "traditional" gay and one straight.

As you might think this story is causing huge controversy in the gay community as well as amongst the people in the Indiana town. Some students support the separate proms and there are other members of the community who say it's wrong to condemn someone for being gay.

A Special Education Teacher, Diana Medley, said "She doesn't believe anyone is born gay" and when asked the question "Do you think they (gays) have a purpose in life?" she says: "No I honestly don’t. Sorry, but I don’t. I don’t understand it. A gay person isn’t going to come up and make some change unless it’s to realize that it was a choice and they’re chosing [sic] God,” said Medley.
