A month ago, Amarillo was sad to find out that their only water park was being shut down permanently.

If you drive by the former Splash Kingdom, you'll notice that some of the water slides have been taken down and missing. That's because they are in the process of being relocated.

Plainview residents Ricky and Teressa King have bought the water slide and plan on building a new water-park at 4000 N. Interstate 27 in Plainview. The new water park will have a restaurant and arcade. The Kings hopes to attract people from Amarillo and Lubbock.

The water park will be called "Royal Splash Texas."

The land that Splash Kingdom was located on was purchased by Big Texan owner Bobby Lee. There is a rumor that Lee plans to build a year-round water park on the old Splash site. This would be awesome, since Amarillo has such unpredictable weather, even in the summer.
