T.I. Helps Fellow Inmates Get a Visit From Their Families

It is no secret that T.I. is behind bars.  Unlike many of the inmates, Tip gets tons of fan mail and regular visits.  So he decided he wanted to help out 14 of his fellow inmates.

T.I. is currently locked up at Forrest City Correctional Facility in Forrest City, Arkansas.  He is serving an 11 month sentence because of a parole violation.  Now if you have ever been locked up or know someone who has then you know it is a sad place to be.

Many inmates do not get regular visits or regular mail.  T.I. wanted to do something to help out.  In a statement to MTV News, T.I. said:

"There are a lot of good dudes in here that haven't been able to see their loved ones in years.  Their families can't afford the trip so I wanted to help out."

And help out he did.  He sponsored a bus trip for 46 family members of 14 inmates to visit the prison.  The bus was given the name "To See a Love one."  The family and friends who participate in the trip were from both Atlanta and Alabama.  The trip took place Memorial Day weekend.

Now T.I. hasn't always made the best choices in his life, but this definitely was one.  Kudos to you Tip! It was a wonderful gesture and goes to show that you can do good even from behind bars!

Hopefully the rest of his time will fly by and he will be putting out hits once again.  What do you think of this gesture?
