Amarillo Independent School District has no school this Labor Day, like every year. This year the 4th of September is the day off for students and others. Some parents have made plans to go out of town this holiday weekend, so school will return back on Tuesday the 5th.

Out on the historic Route 66-Amarillo Boulevard you'll find Cattleman's cafe.  This restaurant hasn't closed its doors once in the past 30 years.  That changed when the Blizzard of 2013 hit town due to them horrible weather conditions, Cattleman's Cafe was forced to close it's doors.

Summer months are over, but during the past the City of Amarillo wanted the residents to watch how much water we use. Whether is was while we were watering the grass during evening hours, showering, or even how long we wash our hands, the city wanted to make sure we were conserving.

Around 2 years ago the city of Amarillo, started the project of fixing our water drainage problem. The big flooding that happens when it rains too much, so that problem had to be fixed. Martin Road lake was on the list.

The University Interscholastic League have had changes to the classification of schools every so often when they add more kids. Which they had to added the 6A class, the biggest class in the state of Texas.

Most of the year has been dry, but like that rain has came these past few days. So most of us reading this won't be seeing people and businesses water their grass. The water wise of Amarillo team have ways to keep your water bill down.

Summer has come, but for the Texas Panhandle it was a another year that the area hit the triple digit temperatures plus all the drought conditions from our fires earlier this year.
